On Thursday, November 29, the NNPS-TV production team video-recorded the Superintendent’s State of the Schools address, "Building Successful Futures Together." The event was held at the David Student Union Ballroom on the campus of Christopher Newport University.

During the address, NNPS Superintendent Dr. George Parker highlighted student achievement, goals, future plans, and areas of growth.

The production team, which includes Station Manager Jim Anklam, Producer Nik Long, and Video Production Technician Aaron Moore, along with NNPS- TV Broadcast Engineer Greg Lesko, recorded the presentation.

Moore edited the footage to create a video with highlights of the speech and the event, which was used in NNPS-TV'S "This Just In" show for the week of December 10.

A video of the full speech and event is in the process of being edited, too.

The multi-camera production included four cameras rather than the usual three. Lesko took the opportunity to try out a new 4K camera. These four cameras are the ones that will be used in the smaller mobile production truck that is being configured with new equipment.

One of the TV team's main purposes is to support the school division with video coverage, including events like the Superintendent’s State of the Schools address.

The production team is most often working in the schools, video-recording the good things that NNPS students, teachers, and administrators are doing, along with business and community partners.

Other videos recently created by NNPS-TV showcasing division initiatives include: NNPS Business Partnerships; College, Career and Citizen-Ready Skills; and High School Magnet Programs.
