VSBA logoOnce again, Telecom students covered the VSBA (Virginia School Boards Association) Annual Convention, which was held in Williamsburg November 15-17. The event attracts over 1,000 school board members, superintendents, and school division employees from all over Virginia.

Each year, Telecom Supervisor Ray Price takes students to video-record the speakers, exhibitors, attendees, performances, and activities at the convention in order to create a promotional video for next year's convention.

They interview attendees and gather footage that depicts the various offerings at the convention, including the early-morning 5K walk/run (crew call at 6 a.m.).

Price and the students have been doing this for the past five years.

This year's student crew consisted of Darin Cooper and Javier Rodriguez, both seniors at Menchville; Jason Hoyle, a senior at Woodside, and Tyson Odette, a junior at Woodside. They shot video over two days, and will edit it to create the promo for the 2018 convention.

The students received a "thank you" mention in the event program for providing video coverage.
