 Some students enrolled in NNPS-TV's television production classes start learning a bit early in the year. Remote Video Production Training is held a week before school starts, and yes, it is related to football, that other school-related activity that starts well before the first school day.

 When TV Production classes start at NNPS-TV in September, Marcus Hickman may feel like the tables have been turned. Some 10-odd years ago, he was the student learning the ins and outs of working in television; now he’s the new instructor.

 NASA Langley Research Center volunteers plan to visit area schools Oct. 8 (or another scheduled date) to educate and inspire students as part of NASA's "Day of Education." The center is on a mission to bring NASA into 1,000 local classrooms.

 The next School Board meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. Meetings are held in the administration building auditorium and are open to the public.
School Board meetings are broadcast live on NNPS-TV (Cox channel 47/FiOS channel 17), and can also be seen via the Internet by clicking on the red Webcast promo on the homepage during the broadcast.
The fall football schedule is out, and NNPS-TV (Cox channel 47/Verizon FiOS 17) will broadcast at least one game for each of the five Newport News high schools. This will be the 20th year that NNPS-TV has televised AAA Peninsula District Football and other prep sports.
