30 years of TV at NNPS: Sports

Telecom students receive NASA recognition

Telecom students at HU JSchoolTelecom students were recognized for the work they have done with NASA for the past year: helping produce educational videos called "Spotlite videos" and "SME2's," which are part of NASA's eClips™ web series. Read more.


2017 graduation TV & online broadcast schedule

graduation capGet the schedule for the NNPS high school graduations coming up soon! NNPS-TV will video-record the commencement ceremonies for replay on NNPS-TV Cox 47/FiOS 17. Find out the different ways you can see the ceremonies.

Don't forget that DVDs of the ceremony can be ordered for $20. After June, the price goes up!

Student News

Telecom logoTelecom students participated in the Student Advisory Group on Education (SAGE) Expo at Patrick Henry Mall, showing off their TV equipment and video-production expertise, while recording video for future projects.

Every 15 MinutesThe students also videotaped "Every 15 Minutes," a distracted driving program that took place at Heritage High. Their video was edited overnight and played at the assembly the next morning. See the video on YouTube.


Coming up: Telecom students will video record the CNU Graduation on May 13.

For class work, both TV-I classes are working on producing and editing a short movie.  They have just completed the script and have begun recording some of the scenes.  Their classmates are the crew and also the cast!  The movies will be about 5-10 minutes long. The students must present a budget along with the script and story board.

Students in the TV-II class are directing their second show for their college credit.  One student's show is about the SPCA - recording it included a visit to the studio by a bulldog-boxer mix from the animal shelter.

Telecom/NNPS-TV Production students Sports Highlights' May 2017 episode features our very own Telecom/NNPS-TV Television Production students! Watch the show on NNPS-TV (Cox 47/FiOS 17) on Mondays at 7 a.m., 2 p.m., and 7 p.m., and weekends at 9 a.m. Online, visit www.nnpstv.com/webstream or the NNPS-TV Roku channel during the TV broadcast to see it on the live webstream. The NNPS-TV Video site is another way to watch.

The next School Board Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m.  A work session will be held at 5:30 p.m. Both meetings will be broadcast live on NNPS-TV (Cox Channel 47/Verizon FiOS Channel 17) and re-played at later dates. School Board meetings can also be seen on the live web stream online, or on the NNPS-TV Roku channel during the live TV broadcast and the re-plays.
