NNPS-TV prepares small truck for big things

NNPS-TV's production team goes on shoots at all the NNPS schools all the time, recording video and cutting it together into shows like "This Just In" and "School Board Spotlight." But generally they do not broadcast live or do many multi-camera productions, but that may change in the near future.

Telecom may stream football playoff game

footballThe Telecom crew hopes to live stream the upcoming playoff game that pits Woodside High vs. Landstown High of Virginia Beach. The game is Friday, November 9 at 7 p.m. at Todd Stadium.

NNPS-TV team provides internal videos

The NNPS-TV production team has been busy in their "support" role since the start of school, creating videos for the school division, some to be used externally, but some specifically for internal use. These include introduction videos for the new superintendent, Dr. George Parker, and Chief of Staff, Rashard Wright. Other videos were made to help administrators communicate with the school board as well as with other administrators.

Student news

Telecom logoTV-I students are working on video/photo montages and using Photoshop to create title screens, which will help them understand creating graphics using the character generator. Soon the students will start work on making commercials using products of their choice.

TV-II students are completing their PSAs.  Next, they will begin working on their NASA videos, working in groups.  They will use a variety of graphics and videos provided by NASA, as well as video they will record, to create a 90- to 120-second NASA Spotlite video.

What's showing

A new series, "Discover China," airs in November. It took seven years to make this documentary series, so it should be comprehensive. "Barney’s Barrier Reef" is super-entertaining and full of fast-paced info that can be a little yucky, but great for kids. Slightly more subdued is "U.S. Presidents," which highlights some of our most interesting presidents. Donald Trump isn't in it, but you should still check it out! Last but not least, "100 Years, 100 Events" details important moments in history.

The Denbigh vs. Menchville football game played Tuesday, October 30, will continue to air this week on NNPS-TV Channel 47/17, Roku and Apple TV, and on the webstream at nnpstv.com.

Michael NortonThe November episode of "Sports Highlights," features Former Warwick High Head Wrestling Coach Michael Norton, Daily Press Sports Correspondent/Cross Country Coach Jim McGrath, and Heritage High Head Boys' Basketball Coach, Llew Radford. The show airs on NNPS-TV (Cox 47/Verizon FiOS 17) on Mondays at 7 a.m., 2 p.m., and 7 p.m., and weekends at 9 a.m. Visit www.nnpstv.com/webstream during the TV broadcast to watch it online. You can also go to the NNPS-TV Roku or Apple TV channel, or the NNPS-TV Video site, to watch it on the live stream during the broadcast. For "on demand," go to the above YouTube link, the NNPS-TV Video site, or the NNPS-TV Roku or Apple TV channel.

The next School Board Meeting will be on Tuesday, November 13 at 6:30 p.m.  It will be broadcast live on NNPS-TV (Cox 47/Verizon 17 ), and it will be re-played at later dates. School Board meetings can also be seen on the live web stream of the channel during the live broadcast or the replays. Our NNPS-TV Roku and Apple TV channels also have a live stream you can watch during the TV broadcasts, or you can find the meetings on demand there or on YouTube, afterward.
