The Telecom television crew will cover graduation ceremonies back-to-back weekends at Christopher Newport University.

For over 10 years, Telecom has provided video coverage for CNU's graduations, with their video displayed on the giant LED screens and used for the internet livestream. In addition, the Telecom team has created keepsake DVDs for graduates to purchase.

The Telecom video feed includes footage of the graduates processing to the Great Lawn, the commencement speakers, the graduates walking across the stage to receive their degrees, and many crowd shots as well.

That decade-long streak was broken in 2020 when COVID-19 struck and caused social distancing to be implemented and large events like graduations to be canceled.

A year later, the 2020 graduation at CNU will happen, and the next week, the 2021 graduation.

May 8 and May 15 are the dates for "The Commencement Experience," which is to be a festive day where groups of family members walk through campus and enjoy various "event zones" to help celebrate and commemorate the day.

Telecom's crew, which consists of NNPS-TV staff and Telecom students and graduates, will be there for both events, providing the video feed for the Jumbotron and the livestream of graduates receiving their degrees.

The TV production team is led by Telecom Supervisor Ray Price, who will serve as Producer/Director.

The graduation will be livestreamed on CNU's YouTube channel.
