TV production in auditorium

The Telecom crew recorded the 2022 NNPS Summer Graduation Tuesday, August 2 at the Warwick High School Auditorium.

Graduating students from Denbigh, Heritage, Menchville, Warwick, and Woodside high schools received their diplomas and congratulations from school administrators.

The ceremony and production went smoothly, with the Telecom crew overcoming some technical difficulties discovered while setting up.

Each year, the summer commencement ceremony is recorded by the Telecom crew as a multi-camera production. Lately, the crew uses their ATEM switcher setup. The portable switcher is what they used to broadcast high school football games during the pandemic instead of using the TV truck. It enables them to do a multi-cam production with a very small crew. Because finding available crew members late in the summer is often a challenge, the ATEM setup is a great solution.

The Telecom TV crew was made up of NNPS-TV staff and alumni of the NNPS Telecom program, since student workers are not always available this time of year.

Telecom Supervisor Ray Price served as Producer/Director of the graduation production. Telecom Instructor Carl Daniels, Jr. filled in as Camera Operator, and NNPS-TV Broadcast Engineer Mansoor Ahmed handled the engineering duties.

Rounding out the crew were three Telecom alumni:

Brandon Hedgepeth, 2020 Woodside High graduate, Set-up/Audio Technician

Joshua Stuck, 2020 Denbigh High graduate, Camera Operator

Collin Smalls, 2019 Menchville High graduate, Camera Operator
