TV crew working at track

For the first time, the Telecom team recorded the NNPS Middle School All-City Track Meet for airing on NNPS-TV and the web.

The event was held October 24 at Todd Stadium.

The crew was made up of NNPS-TV staff and student crew members.

Telecom Supervisor Ray Price was Producer, while TV Instructor Carl Daniels, Jr. served as the Announcer. Broadcast Engineer Mansoor Ahmed handled the engineering and also did camera work.

Telecom alumnus Brandon Hedgepeth was Director/Technician, while his brother, current Telecom student Ryan Hedgepeth, served as Assistant Director and Audio/Graphics Technician.

Telecom student Fantasee Carey filled one of the Camera Operator positions, as did Telecom alumnus Collin Smalls.

B.T. Washington middle schooler Elijah Price (son of Telecom Supervisor Price) assisted as a Camera Operator for needed breaks during the hours-long event.

The four-camera production utilized the portable switcher (an ATEM Mini Pro from Blackmagic Design), which allows the Telecom team to do multi-camera productions with a small crew.

The competitive meet ended with Gildersleeve boys and Washington girls finishing first in the team rankings after seven events.
