The NNPS high school graduation ceremonies were held June 7-11 at Todd Stadium. The ceremonies were video-recorded for replay on NNPS-TV. They will be re-broadcast twice a day for two weeks during the summer.
Every year, NNPS-TV records the Newport News Public Schools awards ceremonies to air on Cox Channel 47/Verizon Fios Channel 17, and on Roku and Apple TV. This year, many celebrations have been virtual, and have been livestreamed. They will be replayed on TV throughout the summer.
NNPS teachers had to hurriedly adapt to virtual and then hybrid learning in order to continue educating students as well as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The NNPS Telecom TV production crew successfully completed five major end-of-the-year productions on the campus of Christopher Newport University, covering the college's two graduations and the President’s Leadership Program Senior Celebration, plus the Alumni Illumination and the Latin Honors ceremony.
